Altered books are artworks that alter a book from its original form into a new one by changing either the way it looks or its meaning. The altered book featured here is titled "Soul for the Food." The pages of an Appalachian cookbook were shredded, reintroduced into the book, and bolted to a baking rack. The salt and pepper in the shakers are confetti.
